Click here to see Jon Robert talk about Turkana Mission Sunday 28th of Feb., 2010 Today we attended a church service in a small community at the base of Mount Kenya known as Naro Muro, but to me it will always be known as “Newton’s Village”. Why do I call it Newton’s Village ? Why not Naro Muro, small town or just a dot on the map? Because somehow God has intertwined Brittneys life, Newtons life and the lives of so many others together in such a way that none of us will fully understand until we behold the king of glory face to face. Looking back over the seven years I’ve been involved with Kenyarelief, a joyful smile comes to my face, recalling all the events that have taken place in such a short time span. I can remember asking God seven years ago, Why have I been asked to travel so far from home? I’m not a doctor, I’m not a Pastor, I’m not a teacher, What benefit could I possibly be to the team? Even to this day I can’t positively say I’ve been a benefit to any of the teams I have been on, but I can say, they have positively been a benefit to me. How can I say that you may ask? Because somehow God has intertwined Brittney’s life, Newtons life and the lives of so many others together in such a way that none of us will fully understand until we behold the king of glory face to face.
Oh well, Once again I Have detoured from my email about today’s events…The church service was about spiritual maturity and learning to be quick to listen and slow to speak. Needless to say, I tried to keep my trap shut on the long road trip from Newton’s Village back to Nairobi.. Guess what? I almost made it out of the church parking lot. Please pray for us we leave for the Turkana District early in the morning.
Love to all…Joe Conn Thursday Feb. 25th: 7:05am Headed toward Huntsville Airport for flight to Detroit.
