Testimonies
Karen Hall Since joining Kenya Relief 5 years ago, I've had the most awesome experience's getting to know the Kenyan people. They are the most humble, spiritual, gracious, and loving people you will ever meet. The orphans at the Brittany house are the most gracious, loving individuals who seek unconditional love and support. My affiliation with Kenya Relief has brought great joy and self gratification to my life knowing I am helping others in greater need of medical care, housing, clothing, daily meals, and clean drinking water. It's made me realize even more what a great nation I live in and that one person can make a difference in enriching the lives of others. May God continue to bless the Brittany house, Steve and Greta James, and all others who support this wonderful mission that was given to us by a selfless individual named Brittany James. Sincerely, Karen Hall, RN,Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, AL. Kenya Relief is more than just an organization; it is a true outreach ministry that touches, changes, and enriches the precious lives of the Kenyan people. Kenya Relief has personally provided me with the opportunity to fulfill the will of God in my life. The smiles, touches, and gratitude that the Kenyans freely give are so overwhelming and humbling. I can say that I am a better person having met them, and they are now and forever my Christian family. I have developed precious friendships with those at the orphanage and in the Migori community that will never fade. God is always working, even when we fail to see it, for the good of those that love Him. My God continue to bless Kenya Relief and those that continually give to Him and His ministries. Adriann Ivey,CRMC, Cullman, Al It's actually hard to find the words to describe how Kenya Relief has changed me. I had such a preconceived notion about how my experience would affect or alter my daily perspective. I was right in some ways; obviously it was an eye opener to reality and how much I take for granted, along with the shock of cultural diversity. But I didn't anticipate how much it would give me hope. I had planned on being a little more negative on our society and ashamed at our gluttony and daily habits. I was astonished to discover that I returned with "a glass half full". It was amazing to see what one person could inspire; a movement of such compassion and love was built from almost nothing in such a small amount of time just from the persistence and hope of a single mind. Honestly, I felt guilt for even assuming I could claim to be part of something this huge, this pure and beautiful. My experience began as one of giving and in the end I have received more than I could have ever give. I feel my eyes and heart are wider and that as a person my life will be more than it ever could have been. The people that I met along the journey have been an incredible inspiration and I am amazed to see how their lives have all changed. I truly cannot imagine my life's path if I had not had the chance to grow because of Kenya Relief. I now feel that I can change the world for the better, that with one sentence I can make a change in one person's life and, therefore, many people's lives. I am larger than me, my heart can be bigger than I see and what we do is the difference, no matter how small or large. Karen Lee, Artist, Cullman, Al. It is so very hard to briefly describe the experience of a mission trip to Kenya. The trip is long, hard, beautiful, life changing. The Kenyans I met had indescribable joy and faith the experience through Kenya Relief was great! Praise the Lord for the opportunity! Vicky Skipper |
