Starvation in Kenya…………Where we stand………..…Help is on the way!

           Two months ago Kenyarelief partnered with Friends (Mission Outreach of Springfield ILL. And Dr. Tim Page of Detroit Michigan) to finance and coordinate the shipment of 20 tons of food relief to the starving women and children in Northern Kenya. The drought is the worst to hit Kenya in more than 10 years with no rainfall in the last 3 years in the Turkana district. We stepped out in faith to help the Turkana people of northern Kenya. The campaign to raise 10,000 USD needed to ship the food was an act of obedience. The good news is the container was loaded today in Springfield Illinois and it will travel to the port of New York to be loaded on a large ocean freighter for its 40 day journey to the port of Mombassa Kenya. Once received our representative in Kenya will clear it with customs pay the port charges and the money needed for its 24 hour trek to Nairobi. The estimated cost for shipping and dispersement to three remote locations in Turkana district is 10,000. We have been blessed with 5300.00 in donations as of today. God is providing. Kindly consider helping us to meet the goal of 10,000. You will be involved in touching those who cry for help. These pictures were taken this morning at 5am when the container of food and medical supplies were loaded.

 I hope you are blessed enough to share your good fortune with Gods people in this remote part of Kenya.  Joe Conn ( KR board member) and his wife Cissie will accompany the food to 3 different local schools where the food will be given to the mothers of the children in need. We will supply pictures of the food being distributed directly to the mothers. The container is to arrive in Nairobi around Feb 1st and we should have the food delivered in four or five days after arrival.
